I have to rave about this, because I've waited a while for it, and finally, thanks to mr grizzley bear, have sorted something else out too.
First the sorted out thing. In a word, Total Recorder, from www.highcriteria.com, wil record skype calls. This will help in a number of situations, not least my podcasting. Some may say it's sad, but it's way more fun, adn less irritating than purving on girls on here, or ... a number of other things on here some do. 17 Bucks, and I'm sorted! mwaahahahaha!
And secondly, Church Audio mikes. Got 'em from the Canadian Ebay site, as there isn't a store here on the UK one. Asked the owner a question which was met with ... quite frankly the customer service technique of a charging fucking rhino, but who cares, as long as he does what he says he will, he gets his money, adn we get our mikes, it's cool. I say we because Lisa is getting one too.
So wa hoo! yay us! Sorted, and all that shtuff. OK I'm done.

dude! just had a bitch of a time getting it to work with v3.5 of skype, but it seems to. hoping to try it out later on, on something more than the text call feature.

i don't think the total recorder is responsable for the problems with skype and recording. you need to tell total recorder to record from soundboard I think as you are recording voice rather than digital or analogue sound from other divices.

na i sorted it. what ya need to do is set it up for software recording, adn check the box for recording internet stream as well. skype needs to be set up for playback and recording through total recorder. lol it took a while, but we're sorted now.

Glad to read about your equipment Simon. A selebration at a Greek restaurant sounds a good idea now. lol.
I saw your podcast on blind cool tech about total recorder but my connection is slow and couldn't listen to it lol.

Chris Church is an asshole, who uses false advertising and over-construction to make his products seem better than they are. Let's review.

Problems

i love total recorder. i use the professional eddition due to the fact that it has some enhancements that the basic version does not.

Yeah I use that whenever Lisa and I do podcasts over skype. It's a nice bit of software.
